The Dromos Library presents an exclusive collection of rain ambiances, fully recorded in 5.0 Surround for total sonic immersion. Capturing rain is one of the greatest challenges in field recording: there is the constant risk of water damaging the equipment or, even worse, compromising the natural timbre with the distracting “patter” of protective covers placed too close to the microphones. Over the years, I have refined my logistical strategies and techniques through direct experience, learning how to leverage natural or architectural shelters that protect the gear without interfering with the purity of the sound. This approach results in a crystal-clear rain recording, free from artificial resonances. The library offers an incredible variety of settings: from the untamed atmospheres of the wilderness to urban environments and the unique acoustic signature of small stone villages. Recorded at various distances and intensities— ranging from a light drizzle to a heavy downpour—this collection ensures top-tier quality and an authentic sonic texture, ready for the most demanding cinematic productions.
