OLD SCHOOL SCHERTLER BASIK

I originally acquired this vintage contact microphone years ago to amplify acoustic musical instruments by capturing direct structural vibrations. While my primary contact transducers have evolved to a pair of active Schertler DYN UNI P48 microphones for high-end studio and field applications, this contact mic remains an effective secondary sensor. When placed in the right acoustic context—such as isolating tactile mechanical sounds, metallic resonances, or solid-material vibrations—it delivers unique sonic character and reliable transient performance.
