Another microphone that a field recordist cannot do without is the hydrophone. Managing its strong midrange frequencies is not easy. I often come across recordings with sharp clicks and transients that are difficult to control in post-production. Over time, I have tried to understand how to handle these issues more effectively, although every recording environment is unique and presents its own specific challenges.
