Choosing the right headphones is a very personal matter, especially when working in the studio during post-production. I know sound engineers who use old, worn-out headphones and still achieve impeccable mixes. It is largely a matter of familiarity and habit.
In the studio, I use the AKG K240 MKII, while for field recording I rely on the Sony MDR-7506.
